Audio transcriptions, or "takedowns," refer to sheet music that has been created from listening to a
recording of music and writing the notation for it down on paper. Some of my past transcription experience
includes notating original music from sacred hymns and instrumentals, pop songs, Bollywood songs, Jazz
pieces/solos, and Caribbean Island folk songs and melodies (Soca, Calypso, Reggae, Traditional songs of the
West Indies).
I can provide transcription takedown and notated sheet music services for original or public domain music
only. You can check to verify if a song or piece of music is in the public domain
here (pdinfo.com). Please be aware that I cannot transcribe copyrighted material without written
permission from the copyright owner.
My fee for transcribing musical material is $8.00 per line, each stave, of the finished sheet music plus
$21 per page for the notation (or $32 per page if you need the music to be transposed), and includes a basic
VST playback of the notation in MP3 format.
MUSIC PREPARATION
Sometimes the music is already notated on paper but there is a need for professional, uniform scores
and/or parts. Music preparation refers to the preparation of sheet music for this purpose.
Some of my past music preparation projects include original and public domain works for light opera,
mixed choir, pop and country songs, percussion pieces, and jazz instrumentals. The types of sheet music
I've used for these projects includes Scores and Parts (Full Scores, Cutaway Scores, Reduced and Condensed
Scores), SATB Quarto/Octavo Books, Lead Sheet/Piano Accompaniments, Tablature, Percussion Charts, Steel
Band Charts/Scores, and Jazz Charts/Scores.
My fee for music preparation is $21 per page and includes a basic VST playback of the notation in MP3
format
TRANSPOSITIONS
My fee for transposing the sheet music into another key is $32 per page, which includes the $21 per page
music preparation fee and a basic VST playback of the notation in MP3 format.
